Details for Breastfeeding Supportive Caregiving Expert (BSCE) Certification
Each Certified Facility is required to have at least one Breastfeeding Supportive Caregiving Expert on staff. The Breastfeeding Supportive Caregiver Academy is completed online, at your own pace. The Certified Breastfeeding Supportive Caregiving Expert (BSCE) is certified and qualified to care for infants with the Baby Led Feeding Practices ™, and certified to support breastfeeding mothers by providing appropriate resources when necessary. BSCE’s will be registered with and promoted by Successful Breastfeeding LLC.
Caregivers have six months from the date of their Baby Led Feeding Workshop to enroll in the Academy, and 9 months from the date of enrollment to complete their certification. Certification will be valid for 3 years.
Baby Led Feeding Practices Online Workshop, BSCE re-certification exam, and $75 certification maintenance investment* is required every 3 years to keep certification valid.
Certification Requirements:
● Attend the Online Baby Led Feeding Workshop and possess the completion certificate.
● Compile a list of local resources for breastfeeding mothers.
● Read from the recommended reading list, and write a reflection of what you've read.
● Write a reflection about the importance of Baby Led Feeding Practices and support for working mothers.
● Sign and adhere to the BSCE Code of Conduct
● Listen into a Successful Breastfeeding Back to Work Workshop online.
● Document TWO Support conversations with mothers in your facility.
● Submit a video demonstrating Baby Led Feeding Practices ™
● Pass the certification exam with at least 80%.
